The construction of the tower was our first project
But that was just the beginning
The construction of the Luxembourg Hill lookout tower on the top of the hill of the same name at an altitude of 564 metres above sea level has been discussed for many years. The construction was prepared for about eight years and in May 2015 the second building permit was issued by the Ústí nad Labem City Council. The municipality of Malečov subsequently submitted an application for a subsidy to the Ministry for Regional Development. However, since the subsidy was not allocated in 2016, we decided to help the situation and raise funds for the construction of the tower by the joint efforts of all of us who care about making the beauty of this region accessible, building an attractive tourist destination, and making the Malečov region more visible.

Who we are and why we do it
In order to raise the necessary funds for the construction of the lookout tower in the form of donations, we founded the Malečovský rozhled, z. s. association, which was registered in the Federal Register maintained by the Regional Court of Ústí nad Labem on October 15, 2016. The association consists of three members: Eva Kovaříková, Jaroslav Bukáček, and Zdeněk Petr, who is also the chairman of the association. We are convinced that our chosen method of funding will help to strengthen the confidence and unity of all of us donors and confirm the idea: "In order for your dream to come true, you have to follow it." The main mission of our association is to improve the Malečov region, which consists of ten parts: Babiny I, Březí, Čeřeniště, Horní Zálezly

And what happened next..
The never-ending journey to dreams
Before the tower was officially opened, an old wooden cross was discovered above Rýdeč in the direction of Řetouň. It had fallen, was rotten... but it was initiatory. Thus, another dream of the chairman of the association was born: the documentation of small sacred monuments, including the renovation of selected ones. And then one dream followed another: the dehumidification of the church foundations in Čeřeniště, the history of the Malečov region, war memorials, milestones, chronicles, the largest MUZOOS yet, followed by the restoration of the wind pump in Němčí and the documentation of cemeteries. The latest dream so far is to create a memorial to the vanished village of Babiny I. So far. Everything is available in the PROJECTS section.
