We Are Preparing a New Project

At the beginning of 2023, based on an agreement with the Museum of the City of Ústí nad Labem, we acquired about 250 photographs from different parts of the Malečov region, taken in the 1960s. The vast majority of these images depict village buildings.

An Idea That May Not Be Original but Is Certainly Interesting

Anyone who receives such a large collection of historical photographs of the places they live in today would probably think of the same idea: to identify the objects captured in the photographs and match them with present-day images. However, this will not be an easy task. We have already attempted to identify buildings in Rýdeč, and it proved quite challenging. We believe that some of the structures no longer exist.

Then and Now: A 60-Year Comparison

During 2024, we plan to select several dozen historical photographs from different parts of the Malečov region and take contemporary photos of the same locations. The result will be a fascinating comparison.

We will display these photo pairs on our website and also hope to organize an exhibition on this topic at the Malečov Cultural Center.
