Over the summer of 2024, a new dream was born in the minds of surveyor Michal Radina from Proboštov and the chairman of the association: to document the cemeteries in the Malečov region. There are three of them: the first was created at the Church of St. John the Baptist in Proboštov. After the ban on burials near churches and due to a lack of space, a cemetery was established outside the built-up area of Proboštov. The third cemetery, Čeřeniště Cemetery, is located in the cadastral territory of Babiny I.
The realization of this dream involves the precise measurement of the cemetery and individual graves, determining the dimensions of graves and tombstones, taking photo documentation of individual graves, recording inscriptions and names of the deceased, and possibly tracing information about the families of the buried. Graves, especially those of German citizens, are often unmaintained and slowly decaying. It is worth documenting their current state for future generations. At the same time, it will be interesting to learn about the history of the cemeteries and also gather information from the current burial records maintained by the municipality of Malečov.
