In the chronicle of the village of Proboštov on p. 38, it is written: "From 28. 1. 1819 by the parish priest Anton John. His grave is near the church." This is also mentioned on p. 43 in connection with the arrival of a new pastor. On p. 44, it reads: "In 1850, the old cemetery near the church was enlarged due to lack of space. The place was sloping, so it had to be built up significantly." On p. 45: "On the fourth Saturday after Pentecost, the enlarged cemetery was consecrated (1861)."
In the so-called Memorial Book of the Parish of Proboštov (stored in the Ústí nad Labem City Archives), written from 1677 or 1690 until 1933 by local parish priests, there is a note from 1898 stating that the cemetery fund must be strengthened and graves must be redeemed—this is followed by an inventory of 13 grave sites (In Eternal Memory, inventory No. 1, redeemed graves in the Proboštov cemetery). Based on the places of origin of the buried (Řetouň, Tašov, Malečov, Babiny I), it can be concluded that the cemetery served the entire parish. A note from 1902 states that the old cemetery around the church is no longer suitable.
