In early May 2022, Barbora Ježková from Čeřeniště expressed interest in financing the repair of this niche chapel. On 27. 5. 2022, a meeting took place in front of the chapel with PhDr. Petr Hrubý, Director of the National Heritage Institute ÚP Ústí nad Labem, and Zdeněk Petr for the association. Based on a historical photograph from approximately 1960 and a local survey, the scope of repairs was determined by the NHI and summarized in a separate report. The drawing shows the state before renovation.

On 15. 6. 2022, the association received a draft profile of the architrave and cornice from the National Heritage Institute.

On 16. 7. 2022, a meeting was held on-site between Jaroslav Štěrba, who will provide the necessary masonry work, and Zdeněk Petr on behalf of the association. In the meantime, the association ordered the production of 4 sandstone tiles for the bottom of the chapel niche from Granit Lipnice as a replacement for the existing blue tiles.

Based on a local inspection and the requirements of the NHI, the mason submitted a price proposal of CZK 15,600 incl. VAT, excluding material costs. At the same time, he suggested Libor Krpata, a stucco artist from Nový Bor, for the construction of the architrave and cornice. Both craftsmen proposed to carry out the work in the first half of October 2022.

On 14 September, Zdeněk Petr brought 4 tiles from Granit, made of Božanov sandstone. Subsequently, Mrs. Ježková transferred the necessary funds to the association's account based on a donation agreement.

On 5. 10. 2022, the bottom of the niche was demolished by the mason, and preparatory work was carried out by the stucco artist. The architrave and cornice were completed on 8. 10. 2022. Masonry work then continued on 12, 17, 18, 19, and 26. 10. 2022, as shown in the photos below.

In the end, it was decided that priming and facade paint would be applied only in June 2023, when the thermal conditions were suitable for the maturation of the silicate paints.

At the end of October 2022, Mr. and Mrs. Iva and Zdeněk Lukeš from Čeřeniště offered to decorate the chapel. Initially, a painting or mosaic was considered, based on information in the 1839 inventory of the Proboštov parish office for the Tschuberts Kapelle: the Holy Trinity, Archangel Michael, and St. Florian. In the end, the Lukeš family decided on the theme of the Holy Trinity. They also opted for an unusual design and approached the renowned and internationally recognized glassmaker Zdeněk Kudláček from Nový Bor. On 6. 2. 2023, a meeting and discussion on the chosen theme took place with him. Around mid-April, the final design was created for a glass panel with a textured surface, which will be mounted in front of the back wall of the chapel niche. In front of this panel, a clear glass pane will be placed, containing a text intended for the contemplation of visitors.

Under suitable atmospheric conditions, on 25. 6. 2023, masonry work was carried out, which could not be completed in autumn 2022 due to the cold weather: priming and application of facade paints. According to the recommendation of the National Heritage Institute, the color "broken white" was used for the walls and niche of the chapel, and "white" for the architrave and cornice.

Finally, on 2. 11. 2023, a glass plaque with the Holy Trinity motif and the inscription "He saw three and bowed down to one" was installed. The attachment of the artwork to the back wall of the chapel niche was carried out by the author himself, Zdeněk Kudláček. And so, on the day dedicated to the Memory of the Dead, candles could already be lit...

The original date for the blessing of the chapel on the occasion of the completion of its renovation was set for 19. 11. 2023. However, since the main sponsor of the chapel renovation, Barbora Ježková, was unable to attend the event on this date, it was postponed to 4. 5. 2024. On the same day, a Mass and a small celebration will take place in the little church in Čeřeniště to mark the completion of the project "Dehumidification of the church foundations" (see the section "History of the project" at the bottom). The idea is that after the celebration in the church, the procession of participants will move to the blessing of the chapel and then back to the church where there will be a small refreshment. All kindred spirits are invited!

On Saturday 4. 5. 2024, the afternoon was beautifully sunny. Each of the participants of the small celebration in the church (more HERE below) enjoyed the warm rays, the beautiful nature around, and especially the delicious treats prepared by the locals. Before 5 p.m., a procession of about 30 pilgrims made their way to the nearby chapel. After a short historical excursion by the chairman of the association, Dean Karel Havelka blessed the chapel.
