Wind-Powered Pump in Němčí
The association, in cooperation with the municipality of Malečov, is working to restore a unique wind pump in Němčí, which was registered in 1987 as a cultural monument by the National Heritage Institute. However, at the end of 1987, the 25-meter-high truss mast was dismantled and part of it was moved to the railway museum in Týniště u Zubrnice, where it was intended to serve as part of a water pump for steam locomotives. Unfortunately, the plans fell through, and the mast was eventually scrapped, leading to the pump’s removal from the heritage list.
More details about the project’s history, including photographic documentation and maps, can be found HERE.
On June 16, 2024, the remaining parts of the water supply system from the 1920s were documented. Additionally, a sketch of the original water distribution system—still in use today—was obtained from historian Josef Stehlík.
